Tree Fusing

Tree-fusing mixes trees with the goal of producing shorter trees. If the trees comes from different searches, the score is often considerably improved in very short time. Tree-fusing produces a "synergistic" effect for all those previous searches; this can mean that the rate of score improvement is not necessarily linear. That is, searches run before a round of fusing may not have been producing score improvements beyond some bound, but their accumulated results become more and more useful to the subsequent fusing.
