Consensus
From TNT
TNT allows to calculate strict, semistrict (nelsen), majority and frequency difference consensus. In each case you can select the trees and taxa to be considered in the consensus. The consensus can be save to the tree buffer and/or be dispayed in the TNT tree saving interfase (windows version only).
In order to identify those taxa that produce the irresolution of the consensus, TNT implements prunned consensus. The program successively prunes each taxon (or pairs, triples of taxa) and recalculates the consesus evaluating in each case if the resolution of the consensus has been improved. The consensus estimation implemented in TNT allows to estimate a consensus of large datamatrices in a reduced amount of time.
NOTE:
Before doing the consensus, the trees are temporarily collapsed. If you are going to consense trees obtained from different matrices it is important to deactivate the temporal collapsing (collapse+). Path: Settings/Consense Options
